Ski NC - The Slopes are OPEN and Conditions are Great for Winter Sports

North Carolina Ski Resorts and Areas will ALL be open this weekend with great conditions from natural and man made snow. Check the individual websites for specific times and special events.

Slope and Resort reports as of 12-15-2017:


Appalachian Ski Mountain is  OPEN for the 2017-18 Season   Skiing 7 trails with 5 lifts on a base of 24-36 inches.   Ice Skating now open.   December 24 - Skiing with Santa; December 25 - Christmas Day SkiingASM will be open until Midnight every Friday and Saturday Night from December 9 - March 17.  1 PM - 10 PM.  Ski or Ride for only $10 on the first Sunday of each month (Dec 3, Jan 7, Feb 4, Mar 4) 1/2 night session is from 7:30 – 10 PM, purchase online and get an extra hour FREE - 6:30-10PM.



 
Beech Mountain Ski Resort is OPEN for the 2017-18 Season   Skiing 12 trails with 5 lifts on a base of 16 - 46 inches.  December 16, 17 - Santa visits Beech Mountain; Ongoing - Music and events at Beech Tree Bar and Grille and Beech Mountain Brewery.




 



Cataloochee Ski Area is  OPEN for the 2017-18 Season.  Skiing 16 slopes with 4 lifts on a base of 28 - 52 inches from 9 AM to 4:30 PM with night skiing beginning 12/16.  December 25 - Christmas Day Skiing with Santa 1 PM - 10 PM.









Sapphire Valley Ski
Area is   OPEN for the 2017-18 Season. Opening Day December 16. 
Beginner and Training slope 29 - 49 inches; Main Slope 29 - 51 inches. Frozen Falls Tube Park: 30 - 42 inches.
 





Sugar Mountain Ski Resort
  is OPEN for the 2017-18 Season 
Skiing 12 slopes with 4 lifts on a base of 16 - 48 inches for day and evening sessions. 12/8 - Pre-Season Ski Clinic; 12/8 - SugarFest. Ice skating is open with sessions at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm. Tubing is open. Live music weekends at the All Decked Out Grill.

 



  Wolf Ridge Ski Resort  is OPEN for the 2017-18 Season   Skiing 10 slopes with 2 lifts on an average base of 50 inches. Tube Run is OPEN 9.00 AM to 10.00 PM.

NC Ski Slopes OPEN despite Persistent warm weather

Slope conditions and updates as of January 27, 2017:

Appalachian Ski Mountain is  OPEN  for the 2016-17 Season Skiing 9 slopes with 5 lifts on a base of 12 - 30 inches.   1/28-29  USASA Skier/Boarder X;  2/1 - Appalachian Cup Series;  2/4 - Burton Riglet Park Tour;   2/5, 3/5 - $10 Sunday Nights (half night)

Beech Mountain Ski Resort is OPEN for the 2016-17 Season 
Skiing on 8 slopes with 5 lifts on a base of 12 - 26 inches. Tubing is currently closed, ice skating is open.  2/4-12  College Week;   2/5  USASA Southeastern Series;  2/5  Superbowl Party at The Beech Tree Bar & Grille

Enjoy a Great MLK Holiday Weekend of Skiing and WInter Sports on the NC Slopes

With the arrival of a new cold front and more snowmaking the NC slopes and ski resorts are anticipating great conditions of a holiday weekend of winter fun.  NC skiing, snowboarding, tubing and ice skating will be open at Appalachian Ski Mountain in Blowing Rock, Beech Mountain Resort on Beech Mountain, Cataloochee Ski Area in Maggie Valley, Sapphire Valley Ski Area and Frozen Tube Park (open Firday at noon) in Sapphire Valley, Sugar Mountain Resort on Sugar Mountain and Wolf Ridge in Mars Hill.

Additional tubing parks are Hawksnest between Banner Elk and Boone on Seven Devils, Tube World in Maggie Valley, Jonas Ridge Tubing Park between Blowing Rock and Linville, Scaly Mountain Outdoor Center (tubing and ice skating) south of Highlands and Moonshine Mountain in Hendersonville.

Temperatures will be in the 20s with natural snowfall in most areas so bundle up and drive with care. Check online or by phone for last minute conditions.

Appalachian Ski Mountain is OPEN  - 12 slopes with 6 lifts on a base of 40 - 75 inches.

Beech Mountain Ski Resort is OPEN  for skiing and boarding on 14 slopes with 5 lifts on a base of 34 - 60 inches.

Cataloochee Ski Area is OPEN  - 17 slopes with 5 lifts on a base of 49 - 59 inches for day and night skiing.

Sapphire Valley Ski Area - re-opens today at noon. Base of 18 - 42 inches.   Frozen Falls Tubing re-opens today.

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort  is OPEN  - 18 slopes with 6 lifts on a base of 41 - 90 inches for day and night skiing and boarding. Ice Skating is open. Tubing is open on 6 lanes.

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is OPEN -  11 slopes with 4 lifts on a base of 35 - 55 inches for day and night skiing and boarding. Tubing is open. .

Beech Mountain Ski Resort is  skiing and boarding on 14 slopes with 5 lifts on a base of 35 - 60 inches.Special events:  1/11 - Winterfest Rail Jam;  1/11-12  Winterfest;  1/12 - Cardboard Box Derby.

Cataloochee Ski Area is  skiing and boarding on 9 slopes with 5 lifts on a base of 42 - 74 inches for day and night sessions. Tube world is open Friday 4 PM - 10 PM, Saturday 10 AM - 10 PM, Sunday 10 AM - 6 PM

Sapphire Valley Ski Area - is skiing on 2 slopes and a base of 13 to 27 inches beginning at noon today, 1/10 .  Frozen Falls Tubing will open at the same time.

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort  is  skiing and boarding on 18 slopes with 5 lifts on a base of 42 - 85 inches for day and night skiing and boarding. Ice Skating is open. Tubing is open on 6 lanes. Special events:  1/12 - High Country Junior Race Series Giant Slalom. 

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is  skiing and boarding on 10 slopes with 2 lifts on a base of 35 - 50 inches for day and night skiing and boarding. Tubing is open.

NC Ski Resorts Ready for a Great Weekend of Winter Sports

A great weekend for NC Skiing! The NC slopes are sparkling with fresh fallen snow along with lots of snowmaking in the cooler temperatures. Grab your skis, snowboards, tubes or skates (or rent them onsite) and head for the hills and  the best ski conditions of the season.

Appalachian Ski Mountain is OPEN. Fresh natural snow and skiing on 7 slopes with 5 lifts and a base of 40 - 64 inches.

Beech Mountain Ski Resort is skiing 14 slopes with 7 lifts on a base of 16 - 52 inches. Ice skating and tubing are open.  5 inches of New natural snow

Cataloochee Ski Area will be skiing from the top for all three sessions on 16 trails with 4 lifts on a base of 28 - 48 inches with  new natural and made snow.  Tube World is open from 4 PM - 10 PM..

Sapphire Valley Ski Area - .Open with 2 slopes and 2 lifts on a base of 28 - 48 inches.  Call 828.743.7663 for a live report.

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is open skiing on 17 slopes with 6 lifts on a base of 35 - 65 inches. Tubing and ice skating are open for all sessions. 8 inches new natural snow.

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is OPEN skiing 9 slopes with 2 lifts on a base of 34 - 50 inches. The terrain Park is closed but tubing is open
