Forest City NC Hosts One of the largest Car, Truck and Motorcycle Shows in the Southeast

August 20, 2016   Hot Nights, Cool Rides   More than 350 classic cars, trucks and motorcycles line downtown Forest City NC, drawing both engine enthusiasts and the curious. 


The events includes food, dancing, and music. One of the largest car, truck and motorcycle shows in the Southeast, Forest City's 25th annual "Hot Nights, Cool Rides" event attracts thousands of spectators and hundreds of dynamite vehicles.

The eclectic display of antique and modern vehicles, combined with the authentic, 1930s buildings of Forest City's Main Street, leaves people feeling like the decades have collided. The event runs from 11 AM. - 9 PM. and features live music, vendors, prizes and more. 

Registration is $25 per vehicle and the event is free for spectators.

Easter Weekend Events in the Mountains: Annual Easter Hat Parade in Dillsboro NC

March 26, 2016   Annual Easter Hat Parade   Make a hat, win a prize, get your face painted, meet the Easter Bunny. This family fun event continues to be a favorite Easter weekend mountain happening.

This year the parade will be led by a fleet of restored antique cars and begins in front of the Town Hall on Front Street in charming downtown Dillsboro NC. Awards will be presented for

the Prettiest, Funniest, Largest, Smallest, Most Unusual, Most Easter-like, Best Smelling, Cutest, Most Outrageous, Best In Show and "Poofiest" hats among other unusual categories. There is even a ribbon awarded to the Best Animal in Show!

Dillsboro NC is a small mountain village no longer known for mining and logging, but increasingly for fine artists and crafts. In 1886 Dillsboro was a favorite tourist destination via the railroad. Today, Located in the center of

Classic Car Show this weekend in Mariont NC - Christmas Cruise for Charity

November 16    Classic Car Cruise-in    This car show and meet is held the 3rd Saturday of every month. Bring your car, truck or motorcycle to downtown Old Fort NC ( this month to Marion).  This is a free event sponsored by Route 70 Cruisers. 

This month is the Christmas Cruise:  Saturday from  9 AM -1 PM. The Cruisers will leave Peebles Parking Lot at 9 AM and cruise to Clinchfield Baptist Church.  There will be Food , Music and Silent Auction items.  The entry fee for the Cruise is a new unwrapped toy or $10.00. All toys will benefit McDowell County Children.

Event: Smoky Mountain Rumble Motorcycle Rally Live entertainment, a treasure hunt, guided rides and plenty of vendors with great gear. The Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts in Franklin will host two evening concerts in conjunction with the event.

April 20   3rd Saturday Classic Car Cruise-Ins   Held in downtown, historic Old Fort NC (at the Hardees on Catawba). Sponsored by the Route 70 Cruisers, all makes and models of cars, trucks and motorcycles are invited to join the fun, no entrance or admission fees. There will be food, crafts and a "swap meet" area for treasure hunters.

Easter Event: annual Dillsboro Easter Hat Parade

March 30  Easter Hat Parade through Downtown Dillsboro NC.  This annual favorite Easter Event is led by a fleet of restored antique cars, followed by the many hat contestants and features the Easter Bunny.  The  Easter parade begins in front of the Dillsboro Town Hall on Front Street.

Get your face painted and make your own special hat and come join this delightful parade. Last-minute entrants very welcome.

Come early at 10:30 AM to Dogwood Crafters on Webster Street where you can fashion your own hat. Easter egg hunts (by age group) also start there beginning at 10:30 AM. Registration for the parade starts at 11 AM.

January 12    Cruisers in Historic Downtown North Wilkesboro  Antiques, Street Rods, Classics Cars, Pro Street, Muscle Cars, and Motorcycles are all welcome. The event includes foor prizes and entertainment. Admision is FREE. Bring your lawn chair. Come show your classic or just watch and enjoy all of the cars and trucks on display.

There will also be Concessions, 50/50 Drawings, Silent Auctions, and Door Prizes at each cruise-in. Revenue from cruise-ins is donated back to worthy causes in Wilkes County.

June 8-10   "Cruise the Smokies" Spring Rod Run   500 of the nation’s hottest looking classic cars gather to cruise the most scenic drive in North Carolina. More than 3,000 car enthusiasts will turn out for the Southeast’s premiere Rod Run at the Acquoni Expo Center. Gates will be open from 9 AM to 5 PM on Friday and Saturday; 9 AM to noon on Sunday.

Route 70 Cruisers is a group of car enthusiasts formed to cruise and enjoy cars with family, friends and fellow enthusiasts. The group also does fund-raising for  a variety of  charitable organizations such at the American Cancer Society and for local churches and individuals in need.

Cruise the Smokies this Weekend

June 10 - 12   "Cruise the Smokies" Spring Cherokee Rod Run   is the Southeast's premiere Rod Run. Take a scenic drive through the beautiful smoky mountains with more than 800 of the nation's hottest looking classic cars . The Rod Run begins at the Acqouni Expo Center, 1501 Acquoni Road in Cherokee NC.  Gates will be open from 9 AM. to 5 PM. on Friday and Saturday, and 9 AM. until noon on Sunday.


Spectator admission is $5 each day of the event and is free for children age six and under. Registration for the event is open to pre-1972 vehicles or highly modified late model vehicles. Vehicle registration is $35 at the event.  Registered vehicles are eligible to win cash prizes.
