September 8, 2016 at Brusin' Ales, 66 Broadway Street in downtown Asheville NC    Left Hand Brewing Co. Beer Tasting -  taste a few flagship and limited releases. Brewing left of center for over 22 years now, Colorado's Left Hand Brewing Company has definitely become a bit of an icon in the American Craft Beer scene.

OktoberFest: "Biscuity, malty goodness dominates upfront while the noble pedigree hops lend a properly spicy, dry finish. Zicke zacke, zicke zacke, hoi, hoi, hoi."  Marzen / Oktoberfest.
Extrovert IPA:  "Assertive, fruit-forward hops with aromas of orange blossom and pineapple mingle with flavors of wet pine and sweet malt with a dry finish."   American IPA.
Rye on the Prize:  "Rye on the Prize has a bold, hopped up character inspired by our mission to do good by you, the beer drinker, and our community." American Amber / Red Ale
Wicked Juju:  "Consecrated in observance of the light and darkness in all creatures, fresh juiced ginger and dark roasted malt are brewed together to pour black with slight ginger heat giving way to chocolate malt sweetness."  Herbed / Spiced Beer
Wak Up Dead Nitro:  "SUPER SMOOTH TRIFECTA OF COCOA, DRIED FRUIT AND LICORICE NOTES."  Russian Imperial Stout.

September 9, 2016 -  Brooklyn Brewery Special Release: Serpent.  Serpent started off it's life as a strong Belgian golden ale. It was then aged on Oliver's cider and perry lees in empty Four Roses bourbon barrels for over a year before being bottle conditioned and aged for another year! The resulting beer is smooth and complex with a delightful funk - everything you could want from these master brewers.
Quantities will be limited, so Brusin' will begin selling bottles at 5:00 sharp. There will also be a  tasting of a few other offerings from Brooklyn from 5 to 7 pm!

September 9 - 15, 2016 at various times - Asheville Brewing Company, 675 Merrimon Avenue, Asheville NC: Asheville Brewing Company will release "Hott Fuzzz Peach Pepper Pale " on September 15, at 5 PM in conjunction with a 7 PM showing of 2007 cult film Hot Fuzz at the Merrimon Avenue Theater. This draft only beer will be available starting at 7 PM at both brewpubs.

Movies - Hot Fuzz, The Jungle Book, Temple of Doom, Now You See me 2, Rocky Horror Picture Show. Come enjoy Asheville's Favorite Dine-In Theater.  All tickets are just 3 bucks for all shows. The theater section is equipped with all the fancy digital sound and picture quality you've come to expect from the full price theaters...even 3d! As you can imagine, tickets go quickly. Please come early for tickets (you can even buy them one day in advance). You can come yourself, send your favorite uncle Buck, or your dear old grandma, but tickets must be purchased in person. If you are planning a group of more than 2 people, we suggest arriving at least 30 minutes before movie time to ensure you can find seats together.  Monday pizza special and Thursdays $10 growlers.

The Tasting Room is also a cozy place to host your private event. South Creek Vineyard and Winery, 2240 South Creek Road, Nebo, NC  Open Wednesdays through Saturdays
from 11 AM to 5 PM, Sundays from 1 PM to 5 PM through the year until January 1st. Tastings include the glass & are $6, $7 or $10 depending on the wines you choose. Music events are rain or shine and provided to South Creek Customers at no admission fee, unless it is a stated ticketed event.

Mountain Spirits: Wine and Beer Tastings for the week of 8-13-15

August 14, 2015 from 5:30 - 8 PM at Maggie B's Wine and Specialty Store, 10 C South Main Street in Weaverville NC: Bee & Bramble Mead Tasting. Bee & Bramble is a small winery located in the town of Fairview, NC (a suburb of Asheville). They make meads, or honey wine, metheglins, and melomels out of the finest local ingredients. "Our honey wines are quite different than the usual. Whereas most mead makers will aim for high alcohol and an overall “sweet” character, we opt for the “floral, dry and drinkable” end of the spectrum with alcohol contents in the range of the typical white-red spectrum." Feb 2 , 5 - 7 PM, Brusin' Ales, 66 Broad Strteet, Asheville NC - New Belgium Brewing Fort Collins, Colorado: Trey from New Belgium Brewery, Fort Collins, CO serves up  a special line-up, including the new seasonal, Dig Pale Ale, with Sorachi, Nelson Sauvin, Cascade and Centennial hops, and two beers from the Lips of Faith Series, Biere de Mars and the new (and yummy) Cocoa Mole - Dig Pale Ale "Unearth your bottle-opener because this Pale Ale is something you can Dig;  Belgo IPA "When we set out to brew, we use imagination and salvation to guide us- not necessarily style guidelines. Ruby Lager - A deep amber hue invokes a refreshing taste in this smooth brew; Appalachian Ale - Originally brewed for Peabody's bottle shop in Boone, NC this smooth drinking "American Blonde" has quickly become one of our favorites at the store.  Jan 28, 3-6 PM - FREE Wine Tasting: La Playa Wines from ChileLa Playa Chardonnay "Un-Oaked" 2011- La Playa's estate is found on the sandy beach-like banks of the Tinguiririca River in Chile's Colchagua Valley;  La Playa Cabernet Sauvignon 2010- La Playa is sustainably grown and committed to respecting the environment;  La Playa "Block Selection" Carmenere 2009 - Hand picked from La Playa's most selective block of grapes, and aged in French and American Oak for 12 months, this is a wonderfully rich and complex Carmenere.
