The Blue Ridge Music Trails of North Carolina is your guide to the tradition music of the North Carolina mountains and foothills. The mission and vision of the BRMT is "to create an environment in Western North Carolina where the rich music traditions of the region are sustained and utilized in appropriate ways to improve the lives of residents; where traditional musicians thrive and feel supported in their creative lives; where visitors and residents alike can appreciate and enjoy the richness of the music; and where youth are provided with first hand traditional music experiences that spark interest and the music of the region".

Annual Bluegrass Festival in Stecoah Valley NC

May 21, 2016    Stecoah's Annual Bluegrass Festival    Enjoy bluegrass music ALL DAY LONG outside, or inside if the weather turns bad. You''ll  also find arts, crafts and food vendors.  

Performers include Graham County Line • The Wilson Family • Jonah Riddle • The Pressley Girls  • a Jam Session with Larry Barnett and the Stecoah JAM kids.

The event is held at The Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center, 121 Schoolhouse Road in Robbinsville NC (Stecoah Valley). The Schoolhouse Cafe will be open all day. 11 AM - 5 PM.

Mountain Spirits: Live Music this weekend at the Classic WIne Seller

September 12, 7 PM at The Classic WineSeller, 20 Church Street in downtown Waynesville NC - Enjoy Mike Pilgrim on the mandolin, Don Mercz on guitar and Drew Kirkpatrick playing "Gypsy Jazz" live this Friday night along with all the usual Wine Seller food and beverages. The Tapas and small plate fare begins at 4 PM. $10 per person food minimum.

September 13 beginning at 7 PM dine to the music of recording artist Richard Shulman, composer-pianist with standards as well as original songs. Reservations are recommended.

Mountain Spirits: Avery County Beer and WIne Festival this Weekend

June 22   Avery County Beer and Wine Festival,  the The Blind Squirrel Brewery  and area breweries and local vineyards kick off summer in the High Country. The fun starts at noon so bring your lawn chair or blanket. This event is FREE and features local wineries and breweries offering free tastings with the option to purchase.

Food will be available for purchase and provided by the Toe River Lodge. Entertainment and activities include live music, corn hole toss, fly fishing tutorials by Rivers Edge Outfitters, craft vendors, disc golf games, and much more.

The Vance Toe River Lodge is located at 4716 South US Hwy 19E in Plumtree NC - between Linville and Spruce Pine.
