Tweetsie Railroad Presents Award-winning Riders in the Sky

August  6 - 7, 2016    Riders in the Sky Perform at Tweetsie Railroad   Come hear America's Favorite Cowboys and Grammy award-winning singers. The shows are included in the Park admission but seating is on a first come basis. Showtimes are at noon and 3 PM.

Blowing Rock Horse Show Hunter-Jumper Division Begins Today

July 26 - August 7, 2016    Blowing Rock Horse Show  Hunter / Jumper division I. The 90th annual Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show is one of the oldest horse show events in the country and has been a Blowing Rock tradition since 1923. 

Admission is charged. This year several new Classics including Pre Green Incentive Classics are being introduced both weeks along with Classics for Children, Adults, Ponies and Juniors.

The Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show is held at The Equestrian Preserve,  1500 Laurel Lane in Blowing Rock NC.

Grandfather Mountain Annual Remarkable Rhododendron Ramble

program designed to help visitors get the most out of the memorable sight of Catawba rhododendron blooming up the mountain's slopes in early summer.

Staff naturalists offer programs and guided walks daily at 1 PM. All events are included in the price of admission

Grandfather Mountain  is the highest peak in the Blue Ridge Mountain range at an elevation of 5,964 feet. Grandfather Mountain inspires awe through an abundance of natural wonders. Today it is  designated by the United Nations as an International Biosphere Reserve and protected forever by the Grandfather Mountain Stewardship Foundation, there is nowhere else on Earth that you can enjoy such a variety of mountain life in one amazing place.

Grandfather Mountain is located off Highway between Blowing Rock NC and Linville NC

16th Annual WinterFest this Weekend in Blowing Rock NC

January 22 - 25, 2015   16th Annual Winterfest Join the Village of Blowing Rock to celebrate the fun side of winter at this annual family event. From the Wine Auction, ice carving and Live Bluegrass, to the Chili Cook-Off, Winter Paws Show, Fashion Show, Kids' Activities and the Polar Plunge in Chetola Lake, there's something for everyone. 

January 24, 2015  8th Winter Warmer Beer Festival  Held on the main arena level of the Civic Center. Get rid of the winter blahs at this favorite event with great food and great brews. Enjoy live music and sample the best beer from more than 35 North Carolina and Southeast breweries. This event has sold out the past 5 years, so get your tickets ASAP.

Tweetsie Railroad Cool Summer Nights in July


July 27    Tweetsie Railroad Cool Summer Nights   The Park is open until 9 PM on select nights with special train show rides at dusk. Cool Summer Nights is included as a part of regular admission.

Tweetsie Railroad was North Carolina's first theme park and today still manages to blend fantasy, nature technology into a fun and educational experience for kids of ALL ages. Hop aboard the train and let good ol' number 12 take you on an unforgettable three-mile journey through the scenic mountains. You'll arrive transported back into the days of the Old West.Even in today's high-tech world, we all still have a need for old-fashioned fun and pretend. Tweetsie Railroad is a unique attraction that allows children and families to explore their imaginations and a whole lot more. Be a cowboy, Indian or an engineer on an historic steam locomotive, Number 12, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
