Mountain Spirits: Old World Wine Tasting

March 6, 2015 from 5:30-8:00 PM at Maggie B's Wine and Specialty Store,  10 C South Main Street in Weaverville NC:   FREE TASTING.  Old world wines refer primarily to wines from Europe. The old world style is much more subtle and soft, and follows a traditional and terroir based wine making technique. This week enjoy classically made wines and stop in next Friday to taste new world wines and the difference.

Memorial Day Weekend Events: NC heritage at the Weaverville Roots Festival

May 26-28       Weaverville Roots Festival   A three-day celebration of the culture and heritage of Weaverville, NC. On May 26 Heritage Day will fill the downtown and park areas with music, demonstrations, food and other entertainment. On  May 27 the town will celebrate its Tree City USA status with Arbor Day activities and ceremonies in the nature park, plus entertain visitors with gospel music and other sacred music. On Memorial Day, May 28th, the town roots will be celebrated by honoring those heroes who gave their lives for freedom as well as those heroes who live in the area. There will also be a commemorative ceremony at Lake Louise.

Mother's Day Weekend Events: Art Safari in Weaverville

May 12-13   Weaverville Art Safari A free, self-guided tour of artists' home studios in the scenic area surrounding the villages of Weaverville and Barnardsville, North Carolina. Weaverville is located just 10 minutes north of Asheville. Visitors are granted direct access during Safari weekends to the home studios of a wide variety of local artists and a few visiting artists. The Art Safari will be preceded, as usual, by a gala preview party & silent auction on Friday night, May 11.
