Biltmore Hosts Disney Radio and Teen Beach Movie Beach Party

August 10, 4:30 - 6:30 Biltmore Hosts Teen Beach Movie Beach Party Held at Antler Hill Village the event will feature interactive biker and surfer themed entertainment, including the opportunity for kids to make their own biker or surfer props and get their photo taken as characters of "Teen Beach Movie."

The Radio Disney AM 1480 Road Crew will help host the activities and games, provide fun "Teen Beach Movie" prizes and play the hottest music from the movie and kids' favorite artists.

Last Chance to experience 2012 Candlelight Evenings at Biltmorefor Biltmore

Now through December 31 you still have the opportunity to see the remarkable 29th Annual Candlelight Evenings at Biltmore. As daylight fades into dusk, candlelight and firelight accent Biltmore House’s extravagant holiday décor, accented by live entertainment and outside illuminations.

Biltmore House glows with holiday spirit, appearing much as it would have at the turn of the 19th century. Carols from choirs and ensembles fill the halls with festive sounds. Candlelight Christmas Evenings tickets are available by reservation only, and include a self-guided candlelight tour of Biltmore House, next-day visit to the gardens, Antler Hill Village and Biltmore Winery. Advance reservations are required.

Biltmore - America's "Castle" - was built in 1895 by George Vanderbuilt and is preserved and maintained today by his descendants. With interior square footage over 4 acres, 250 rooms, 65 fireplaces, 43 bathrooms and an impressive collection of art and period furnishing it is one of the East's most popular attractions. Once a working dairy farm the 8,000 acre estate now includes a winery; trails, gardens & grounds to explore; an Equestrian Center, River Bend Farm, a luxury Inn and the newest addition, Antler Village. Plan on spending at least one full day or more to fully enjoy all that Biltmore has to offer.

September 28-30 Music and Wine Weekend at Biltmore Celebrate NC Wine month with festive, delicious, and fun events at Biltmore's Antler Village and Winery. Enjoy live music, grape stomps, and barrel tastings. This special event is included in your estate admission.

Live music this weekend at the Bandstand includes Red Hot Sugar Babies on Friday from 4:30 - 9:15 PM and on Saturday Stormy Weather Trio 12:00 PM–4:45 PM, Red Hot Sugar Babies 5:00 PM.–9:45 PM. Sunday from 1:15 - 6:15 PM the Bruce Lang Band performs.

The Blue Ridge Parkway at 469 miles long is the nation's longest scenic rural parkway. Chimney Rock Park is named for a 500 million-year-old giant granite monolith overlooking Hickory Nut Gorge. Visitors are awed by the breathtaking view that spreads 1200 vertical feet beneath them and 75 miles across the Carolinas. The now state owned park encompasses 1,000 acres offers the best of the mountains in one place with spectacular 75-mile views, hiking trails for all ages, a 404-foot waterfall, a variety of special events and much more. The National Scenic Byways Program is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration. The program is a grass-roots collaborative effort established to help recognize, preserve and enhance selected roads throughout the United States. Since 1992, the National Scenic Byways Program has provided funding for almost 1500 state and nationally designated byway projects in 48 states. The U.S. Secretary of Transportation recognizes certain roads as All-American Roads or National Scenic Byways based on one or more archeological, cultural, historic, natural, recreational and scenic qualities.

Tsali Recreation Area is an outdoors lover's paradise. Probably the most popular features of Tsali Recreation Area are the 39 miles of trails suited for mountain bikers and horse-back riders, as well as hikers. The 4-loop system offers a variety of landscapes. You can climb 1-foot wide rugged paths or travel flat, well-beaten roads. The four trails--Right, Left, Mouse Branch, and Thompson Loops--meander through mixed pine and hardwoods on a peninsula stretching into Fontana Lake. Near Bryson City NC and Robbinsville NC.
