Blue Ridge Mountain Fair in Sparta

July 27-28  Blue Ridge Mountain Fair   Discover the handiwork of local artisans at this arts and crafts fair, held in the heart of Sparta NC at Crouse Park. The event features local artisans, entertainment and food vendors.

Fairgoers also have a chance to visit the Alleghany Quilter’s Guild Show at the Black Exhibition Building at the Alleghany County Fairgrounds on US 21, 1.5 miles north of Sparta.See the creativity of local quilters and vote on your favorite for the People’s Choice Award. There will bea variety of  demonstrations each day including hand appliqué, hand quilting, felting, hairpin lace, etc

A free shuttle bus will be available between the Quilt Show, the Blue Ridge Crafts Show, and the Vintage Car Show.

ArtsMart Today in Old Fort

May 5   ArtsMart  Locally created arts and crafts displayed inside the historic Old Fort Depot. Stop by to chat with the creators of these one-of-a-kind items while you shop for yourself, family or friends. Something for everyone including baskets, paintings, woodwork, wreaths, candles and live demonstrations. Sponsored by Arrowhead Artists and Artisans League.

Tryon Art Trek this weekend

May   4-6    Art Trek Tryon   Approximately 40 artists in Tryon, Saluda, and Columbus, NC and Landrum, SC open their studios to the public. Trekking begins on Friday evening, May 4, and continues through Sunday, May 6. Saturday studio hours are 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday hours are 12 noon to 4 pm. 

Enjoy dining at sponsoring restaurants. An Art Trek Guide is your road map to the artistic community and is available from Trek Base Upstairs Artspace gallery located in downtown Tryon. The guide provides an image of each artist’s work, directions to their studio and road maps of each community. Four area maps identify major roads and artist locations.  MAPS are are also available at artist's studios.

Holiday Bazaar at Marion's Historic Carson House

November 12    Historic Carson House Holiday Bazaar - Historic Carson House Holiday Bazaar will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church Parish House,  289 S. Main Street,  from 9:00AM until 4:00 PM. Purchase unusual, and sometimes rare, handmade gifts. Items include baked goods, gift bags and boxes, decorated trees and wreaths, ornaments, gift tags, gift items for the "special men" in your life, home decorations and jewelry.
