Asheville Wine Tastings

August 14, 3 PM - 7:30 PM at Appalachian Vintner: The tie that binds our wines this weekend is family. We are showcasing two importers, The Australian Premier Collection & Southern Starz, Inc. Both of these importers only work with family owned estates:
Hill of Content Benjamin’s Blend
- Margaret River, Australia. Verdelho, Chardonnay, Sauvingnon Blanc & Semillion. Fermented completely in stainless steel.
Nugan Estate Vision Chardonnay- Riverina, New South Wales. ALL wines produced by Nugan come from their own vineyards.
Hill of Content Pinot Noir- Adelaide Hills. 100% Pinot Noir. We all know what Pinot can be in the right hands.
De Bortoli St Kilda Shiraz- From its humble beginnings more than 75 years ago, the De Bortoli Bilbul Winery is today a substantial operation being one of the Riverina’s largest, employing approximately 200 staff.  Appalachian Vintner is located at 2-B Huntsman Place, Asheville North Carolina   http://www.appalachianvintner.com

August 14, 3PM - 6 PM at Hops and Vines:  Wines From Line 39.
Line 39 offers a selection of varietals from Lake County, AVA, an emerging wine region in California located north of Napa Valley. Line 39 refers to the latitude where many of the great wine growing regions of the world are found.
Line 39 Cabernet Sauvignon-
starts with aromas of bright red fruits, blackberry, tobacco and cedar. This elegant wine offers chewy black fruit flavors with subtle tannins on the finish that don’t overpower this easy-to-drink Cabernet Sauvignon.
Line 39 Petite Sirah-aromas of red and black fruits, with a hint of oak. A full-bodied wine that is both complex and elegant, this wine boasts rich flavors of dark fruits, cherries and a long finish.
Line 39 Sauvignon Blanc- opens with vibrant aromas of grapefruit and lemon citrus, with subtle grassy characters. Hops and Vines is located at 797 Haywood Rd, Ste 100, Asheville North Carolina   http://www.hopsandvines.net
