OrganicFest Today in Asheville

September 10, Pack Square in downtown Asheville NC -OrganicFest 10th Anniversary Celebration. Educate yourself…deliciously…at Organicfest. This special environmental project is the brainchild of the Imagine Center, a local non-profit dedicated to promoting organics to mainstream America through yummy and educational events. This, the 10th anniversary of Organicfest, showcases organic living in all its natural glory with a day of exciting events for the whole family…from crafts, gardening, live music and oh, yeah…food, glorious food.
With the food we eat the day's centerpiece, Organicfest hosts vendors of all kinds, shining  a light on many aspects of organic living. With companies like Babee Greens (all things organic for the little ones), Smacklips (tees for the organic fashionista), Tomboy Organic Skincare (for organically yummy skin) you'll find a variety of organic food vendors to feed your need for an organic 'fix.'

Asheville Wine and Food Festival

August 12 - 13  This year's WNC Magazine Asheville Wine & Food Festival   will be the he largest celebration of wines and local delicacies that the Asheville area has ever seen. In 2011, the festival weekend kicks off with Sweet, a culinary adventure in to the decadent world of desserts, champagnes, dessert wines, specialty cocktails, and spirits. Sweet will be held at the historic Grove Arcade in downtown Asheville.

The Festival's Grand Tasting includes the Finale of the WNC Chef's Challenge,  workshops, live entertainment, and more. VIP tickets are now sold out, but General Admission and combination tickets are still available here. The Chef's Challenge pits finalists Chef  Nate Allen of Knife and Fork in Spruce Pine against Chef Michael Gonzalez of Bistro at Biltmore in Asheville. The Challenge began in March with many of  the best chefs in Western North Carolina competing for 14 weeks.

Located inside the WNC Expo Center at the Grand Tasting and offer 5 workshops throughout the afternoon. All seminars and demonstrations are included in the price of admission.

7th Annual Artisan Bread Bakers Festival in Asheville

April 2 in Asheville Local bakers offer samples, demonstrations and workshops at the Artisan Bread Bakers Festival.  This highly popular 7th annual two-part event begins with a bread tasting and sale at the Greenlife Grocery in downtown Asheville from 10am to 2pm, along with hands-on workshops and lectures from noon to 6pm.
A separate ticket is required for each session. Tickets can be purchased for $10 each, before or during Festival. A limited number of tickets will be available for 'free' with the purchase of a loaf of bread at the Bakers' Showcase on the day of the Festival.
