Registration is open for the 6th Annual Three River Fly Fishing Festival held April 28-30, 2016 in Highlands, NC.
The competition is open to men and women of all skill levels, with more than 2,200 miles of public water available to fish. Each team will fish one native, one hatchery supported and one delayed-harvest stream.
Entry is $500 per team - or $450 for teams who register before March 15. This fee includes the opening night reception, closing night dinner at Cyprus Restaurant and Friday happy hour, as well as a gift bag full of great swag and the opportunity to win fantastic prizes.
As always, every dollar raised from this tournament will benefit the Town of Highlands Scholarship Fund.

be stocked in the Cherokee public fishing waters. When a tagged fish is

Cherokee Trout Fishing Tournament this Weekend
May 31 - June 2 Cherokee's Memorial Holiday Trout Fishing Tournament This fishing event is a tagged fish tournament with a total purse of $10,000. A tagged fish can be redeemed for its corresponding prize value by turning in the tag to the prize distribution booth located at the Artists Row on Aquoni Road across from the Kentucky Fried Chicken.
All persons fishing during the tournament must possess and have on their person while engaged in fishing both an event permit and a valid Tribal fishing permit. An enrolled member’s enrollment card shall serve as his/her fishing permit.

Annual Trout Derby in Blowing Rock NC
April 6 The 34th Annual Trout Derby
The Derby begins at sunrise with awards at 4:30 PM. No pre-registration necessary. Public waters
only, no ponds - nearby fishing spots include Price Lake, Bass Lake, Trout Lake and the Middle Fork River along Highway 321.
Licenses and bait can be purchased at Village Hardware on Green Street.. Fishing at Mayview Lake (Broyhill Park) for children 11 and under and persons with disabilities. Fish weighed and measured at American Legion Building on Park Avenue.

Cherokee The Rumble in the Rhododendron Fly Fishing Tournament
November 2-4 The Rumble in the Rhododendron Fly Fishing Tournament $10,000 in prize money awarded to 1st place team ($5,000), 2nd place team ($3,000) and 3rd place team ($2,000) This two person team fly fishing competition is held on the 2.2 miles of Trophy, Catch-and-Release water on the Cherokee Reservation.
A modified fips mouche format will be used with a tag out system being incorporated as only one team member may fish at a time. Fishing sessions are three hours long. Registration fee includes tournament registration for two people, competitor swag, several meals during the competition and more.
