High Country Beerfest Today
September 4, 3 PM - 7 PM High Country Beerfest is a great chance to sample beers from 57 Breweries and learn how to pair the flavors with food. The High Country Beer Fest is the annual celebration of great craft beer from around the region and the world, including craft beers, club beers, and delicious food. Educational seminars will cover all aspects of beer, brewing, and pairing food and beer. . Proceeds benefit Watauga Children's Council and its efforts to provide child care and family services, as well as The Ivory Tower, a nonprofit brewery on the Appalachian State University campus, and its research of alternative energy to run the brewery. The Beerfest is held at the Broyhill Inn & Conference Center, 842 W. King St., Boone North Carolina. $30, $25 advance.

Superbowl Haiti Benefit at the Flat Rock Cinema
Feb 6, 4:00, pre-game, Flat Rock Cinema, 2700 Greenville Hwy, Flat Rock North Carolina. Enjoy the SUPERBOWL on an 18-foot HD screen.
