Grove Arcade offers Unique Holiday Shopping

For the fourth year, the Grove Arcade and the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa have partnered to display entries from the annual National Gingerbread House Competition. Through January 3, the Arcade is displaying 35 of the whimsical entries. The houses are arranged together in Suite 115 on the O. Henry side of the building in a winter wonderland setting. The public is invited to view the houses Monday through Saturday 10 AM to 6 PM, Sunday noon to 5 PM.

The Arcade is a spectacular setting to see the gingerbread, shop and enjoy the holidays. The building has made a substantial investment in new holiday décor and has been transformed by a volunteer team of merchants led by designer Beth Hohensee of Studio Flora Diva. Enormous glittering wreaths, twinkling trees, holiday chandeliers and more welcome visitors. The merchants are also hosting free holiday performances and concerts. The National Scenic Byways Program is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration. The program is a grass-roots collaborative effort established to help recognize, preserve and enhance selected roads throughout the United States. Since 1992, the National Scenic Byways Program has provided funding for almost 1500 state and nationally designated byway projects in 48 states. The U.S. Secretary of Transportation recognizes certain roads as All-American Roads or National Scenic Byways based on one or more archeological, cultural, historic, natural, recreational and scenic qualities.

Tsali Recreation Area is an outdoors lover's paradise. Probably the most popular features of Tsali Recreation Area are the 39 miles of trails suited for mountain bikers and horse-back riders, as well as hikers. The 4-loop system offers a variety of landscapes. You can climb 1-foot wide rugged paths or travel flat, well-beaten roads.
