September 8, 2016 at Brusin' Ales, 66 Broadway Street in downtown Asheville NC    Left Hand Brewing Co. Beer Tasting -  taste a few flagship and limited releases. Brewing left of center for over 22 years now, Colorado's Left Hand Brewing Company has definitely become a bit of an icon in the American Craft Beer scene.

OktoberFest: "Biscuity, malty goodness dominates upfront while the noble pedigree hops lend a properly spicy, dry finish. Zicke zacke, zicke zacke, hoi, hoi, hoi."  Marzen / Oktoberfest.
Extrovert IPA:  "Assertive, fruit-forward hops with aromas of orange blossom and pineapple mingle with flavors of wet pine and sweet malt with a dry finish."   American IPA.
Rye on the Prize:  "Rye on the Prize has a bold, hopped up character inspired by our mission to do good by you, the beer drinker, and our community." American Amber / Red Ale
Wicked Juju:  "Consecrated in observance of the light and darkness in all creatures, fresh juiced ginger and dark roasted malt are brewed together to pour black with slight ginger heat giving way to chocolate malt sweetness."  Herbed / Spiced Beer
Wak Up Dead Nitro:  "SUPER SMOOTH TRIFECTA OF COCOA, DRIED FRUIT AND LICORICE NOTES."  Russian Imperial Stout.

September 9, 2016 -  Brooklyn Brewery Special Release: Serpent.  Serpent started off it's life as a strong Belgian golden ale. It was then aged on Oliver's cider and perry lees in empty Four Roses bourbon barrels for over a year before being bottle conditioned and aged for another year! The resulting beer is smooth and complex with a delightful funk - everything you could want from these master brewers.

Quantities will be limited, so Brusin' will begin selling bottles at 5:00 sharp. There will also be a  tasting of a few other offerings from Brooklyn from 5 to 7 pm!

September 9, 2016 from 5:30 - 8 PM at Maggie B's Wine and Specialty Store, 10 C South Main Street in Weaverville NC:   Spanish Wine Tasting.  This week enjoy tasting Grenache Blanc, Albarino, Grenache and Tempranillo.

September 9 - 15, 2016 at various times - Asheville Brewing Company, 675 Merrimon Avenue, Asheville NC: Asheville Brewing Company will release "Hott Fuzzz Peach Pepper Pale " on September 15, at 5 PM in conjunction with a 7 PM showing of 2007 cult film Hot Fuzz at the Merrimon Avenue Theater. This draft only beer will be available starting at 7 PM at both brewpubs.

Movies - Hot Fuzz, The Jungle Book, Temple of Doom, Now You See me 2, Rocky Horror Picture Show. Come enjoy Asheville's Favorite Dine-In Theater.  All tickets are just 3 bucks for all shows. The theater section is equipped with all the fancy digital sound and picture quality you've come to expect from the full price theaters...even 3d! As you can imagine, tickets go quickly. Please come early for tickets (you can even buy them one day in advance). You can come yourself, send your favorite uncle Buck, or your dear old grandma, but tickets must be purchased in person. This includes a guided tour of the 33,000 square-foot winery with an overview of the winemaking process, a tasting of five wines, and a souvenir wine glass. $5 per person.  Retail hours are Monday-Saturday 10 AN.-6 PM., and Sunday 12 PM - 6 PM (Daylight Savings Time); Monday-Saturday 10 AM-5 PM and Sunday 12 PM-5 PM (Standard Time). Tours and tastings are offered daily. The winery is open every day of the year except New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. South Creek Vineyard and Winery, 2240 South Creek Road, Nebo, NC  Open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 11 AM to 5 PM, Sundays from 1 PM to 5 PM through the year until January 1st. Tastings include the glass & are $6, $7 or $10 depending on the wines you choose. August 21, 2015 from 5:30 - 8 PM at Maggie B's Wine and Specialty Store, 10 C South Main Street in Weaverville NC: Portuguese Wine Tasting. Most people think of Port wine when they think of wine from Portugal. But, there are so many different wine styles which are produced. Maggie's will be pouring whites such as Vinho Verde, perfect for these sticky August days we have had, and rich red blends.

August 21, 2015 from 5 - 7 PM at Hops and Vines, 797 Haywood Rd. Ste 100 in West Asheville NC: FREE Beer Tasting - Wicked Weed Releases. Join Evan Cruchfield of Wicked Weed and sample their the newly packaged IPA's from their new production facility. Evan will be also be sampling out a few sour beers from Wicked Weed's Funkatorium as well.:

Freak of Nature Double IPA - the hoppiest ale. The focus of this beer was to create a hop delivery vehicle. We dry hop this beer at a rate of almost 4 pounds of hops per barrel. The resulting blend of dank and citrus forward hops make for a palate changing experience. Hopheads, rejoice. This is your beer.

Pernicious - the flagship India Pale Ale. This massively dry-hopped ale has minimum malt complexity and a combination of juicy, tropical fruit-forward hops with heavy resinous American hops. Pernicious is the epitome of a West Coast IPA, made right here in the Southeast..

That’s a real shame because this part of Italy produces some of the country’s most interesting wines and greatest values. Due to the warmer conditions in the south, the reds and whites tend to be on the richer, fuller side of thin.
