Now - January 7, 2017    Christmas at Biltmore    The celebration that began on Christmas Eve in 1895 when George Vanderbilt introduced his family and friends to the newly completed Biltmore home, continues today.  This wonderful celebration allows all visitors to enjoy America's largest home decorated with dozens of Christmas trees, hundreds of wreaths, bows, and poinsettias, miles of evergreen garland, and thousands of ornaments.

Last Chance to experience 2012 Candlelight Evenings at Biltmorefor Biltmore

Now through December 31 you still have the opportunity to see the remarkable  29th Annual Candlelight Evenings at Biltmore As daylight fades into dusk, candlelight and firelight accent Biltmore House’s extravagant holiday décor, accented by live entertainment and outside illuminations. 

Biltmore House glows with holiday spirit, appearing much as it would have at the turn of the 19th century. Carols from choirs and ensembles fill the halls with festive sounds. Candlelight Christmas Evenings tickets are available by reservation only, and include a self-guided candlelight tour of Biltmore House, next-day visit to the gardens, Antler Hill Village and Biltmore Winery. Advance reservations are required.

Biltmore - America's "Castle" - was built in 1895 by George Vanderbuilt and is preserved and maintained today by his descendants. With interior square footage over 4 acres, 250 rooms, 65 fireplaces, 43 bathrooms and an impressive collection of art and period furnishing it is one of the East's most popular attractions. Once a working dairy farm the 8,000 acre estate now includes a winery; trails, gardens & grounds to explore; an Equestrian Center, River Bend Farm, a luxury Inn and the newest addition, Antler Village. Plan on spending at least one full day or more to fully enjoy all that Biltmore has to offer.

Biltmore is located at One Lodge Street in Asheville NC and is open 365 days per year.

Christmas at Biltmore 2012

November 3 - January 1 Christmas at Biltmore in Asheville NC - Known as one of Asheville's and the Southeast’s most beloved and storied holiday travel destinations, Christmas at Biltmore is a remarkable blending of decorations and intangible traditional holiday spirit. 

This year’s Christmas displays throughout Biltmore House, the gardens and grounds will follow an art motif
, with inspiration coming from various art forms found in and around Biltmore House. Each decorated tree and its complementing display pieces will be designed to accent a particular piece of art found in a room, or composed around an expression of art such as the literary arts or music.

Special Christmas Events:
Guests can pick up Biltmore decorating secrets during free holiday craft seminars offered at A Gardener’s Place in the lower part of the Conservatory, near the Walled Garden. Classes are offered four times daily: “Wreath-Making” (11 a.m. and 2 p.m.); and “Tabletop Inspirations” (1 and 3 p.m.).

In Antler Hill Village, Santa will visit with children and families from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, November 10 through December 23, and also on Friday, November 23. Antler Hill Village links to the Winery, where visitors may take guided tours, enjoy free wine tastings and purchase wines from Biltmore’s diverse portfolio, including the limited-edition 2012 Christmas at Biltmore Wine. Special wine seminars are also available.
