Asheville's Annual Martin Luther King Jr Prayer Breakfast

January 19   Martin Luther King Jr Prayer Breakfast  Asheville’s 32nd annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Prayer Breakfast will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Grove Park Inn with guest speaker Dr. Tyrone Bledsoe, founder and executive director of the Student African American Brotherhood.

The Brotherhood is a national organization with more than 250 chapters in 40 states whose mission is to help black youth in middle school and high school with support, guidance, and opportunities. The theme of the King Celebration events is “Marching Toward Justice,” and programs throughout the King Holiday observations will address the progress as well as setbacks that have defined the century and a half since President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation took effect on January 1, 1853.
