July 9 - 48th Annual Coon Dog Day In 2011, the City of Saluda is celebrating its 130th birthday so expect this year's event to be bigger and even better, with a day filled with celebration for dogs and their people! Great food, live music, parade, crafts, street dance, and more.
The Festival began as a chicken supper fundraiser for the local Coon Club and over 48 years has grown into an event which attracts over 10,000 people each year. The day begins with the Coon Dog Day 5K run through historic downtown Saluda, includes a popular parade at 11 AM and continues until 11 PM with a street dance.
