Great Smoky Mountains National Park Fall Color Report for 10-7-2010

Fall Color Report - October 7, 2010. The mountains at low to mid elevation in the park are still predominantly green. The earliest trees such as dogwood and sourwood are turning red, but these are scattered amid an otherwise green forest. At high elevation, yellows and reds are showing, however, the tree species at high elevation are typically not as colorful as those at mid to low elevations.
