Beer Tastings in Asheville

If you missed out on tickets to Asheville's Brewgrass Festival ( sold-out as usual) this Saturday you can still have a "Taste" from some of the participants:

Sept 17, 5 PM - 7 PM at Hops and Vines, 797 Haywood Rd. Ste 100 West Asheville NC:
Pumpkin Beers
In line with the fall season, we'll be featuring pumpkin beers from three great breweries. It doesn't have to be Halloween to enjoy one of these tasty fall spiced beers!
Dogfish Head Punkin- A full-bodied brown ale with smooth hints of pumpkin and brown sugar. They brew their Punkin Ale with pumpkin meat, organic brown sugar and spices. This is the perfect beer to warm-up with, as the season cools. $9.99/4pk

Smuttynose Pumpkin Ale -  They brew this ale with the addition of pumpkin to the mash, along with traditional spices to create a delicious American original. $10.99/6pk
Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin - This 8.0% ABV pumpkin ale is the mother of all pumpkin ales. It is heartier, spicier, and more “caramelly” and “pumpkiny” than its faint brethren! $11.99/4pk

Sept 17, 5 PM - 7 PM at Brusin' Ales, 66 Broadway Street, Downtown Asheville NC:
Triangle Brewing in Durham, NC-
A pre-Brewgrass tasting to launch Triangle Brewery's (Durham, NC) new canned beers. Rick Tufts, head brewer, will be on hand pouring and to answer your questions.
Triangle Belgian-Style Strong Golden Ale - This strong golden ale measures in at 8.0% abv and showcases a variety of the ingredients and brewing methods that help differentiate Triangle beers. It is excellent with food as well as served by itself. Bronze Medal Winner at 2009 Carolina Championship of Beer. Food pairings: Richer dishes, meats, cheeses, stews, smoked foods. As an after-dinner drink.
Triangle White Ale -  Our interpretation of a traditional Belgian wheat beer, Triangle White Ale is unique and truly refreshing. The style gets its name from the white, slightly cloudy appearance of this unfiltered wheat ale. Overall, it is a beer that is light, fruity and very drinkable during a hot summer day. 5.0% abv. Silver Medal winner at the 2010 Carolina Championship of Beer. Food pairings: Great with seafood, shellfish, poultry. Peppery and tangy cheeses also work well with White Ales.
