Groundhog Day at Chimney Rock Park

February 2, 10 AM - noon at Chimney Rock Park - Grady's Groundhog Day Prediction.   Will Grady give the same prediction as Punxsutawney Phil? Or will he daringly give his own prediction about winter’s claim on the weather?

Join Emily Walker, Chimney Rock’s Education Specialist, near the Classroom on the Meadows for a nature program on the life of groundhogs and the Groundhog Day tradition. Then eagerly watch as Grady emerges... if Grady sees his shadow, it means we have six more weeks of winter weather ahead—but if not, then spring is around the corner!

After the prediction, a Park trail guide will lead a one-hour guided hike starting at 11:15 AM at Cliff Dwellers Gifts.

To celebrate Grady’s special day, Chimney Rock Park is offering a discount on membership in Grady's Kids Club(the youth version of the Park's Annual Pass) for youths ages 6-15, for $8 during February.  For only $0.67 a month, kids will get unlimited visits to the
Hickory Nut Falls
Park for an entire year, discounts in the Park and deals at other area attractions. Offer valid February 1-29, 2012.
